Longtime Kane teacher to retire

Betsey Davis (left), who has been a learning support teacher at the Kane Middle School for 34 years, is retiring at the end of the current school year. Some of her students include, left to right: Cassie Ginkel, eighth-grade; Desirae Hulings, eighth-grade; and Dale Coates, seventh-grade. A Pittsburgh native, Davis and her husband, Dennis reside in Kane. They have a son, Matthew. Davis came to Kane for her first teaching job in 1977-78 after graduating from Mansfield State University. She has been in Room 139 at the Kane Middle School during her entire career as a special education teacher. She has worked under six Kane school district superintendents and six building principals.
