Lula M. Johnson, 76, of Waterman Road, Kennedy passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in WCA Hospital.
She was born May 15, 1935 in James City, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn Confer Hulings.
Lula attended Kane High School and was employed by Kennedy Supermarket Grocery Store. Prior to retirement she was employed by the former Lake County Dairy in Falconer.
She was a member of the Kabob Gospel Tabernacle Church and had taught Sunday School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with family. Lula also enjoyed collecting bells, crocheting, sewing, making candy, baking and in earlier years fishing and hunting
Surviving are her husband, Robert E. Johnson Sr., whom she married Jan. 29, 1975 in Falconer; a daughter, Cynthia (Jeff) Kinne of Jamestown; two sons, James R. (Deborah) Mohney of Jamestown and Robert E. (Christinia) Johnson Jr. of Jamestown; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Hulings, George Hulings and Donald Hulings, all of James City, and Walter Hulings of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Anna Bailey of Cassadaga.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James R. Mohney, on June 8, 1971.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy Phelps Chaplain of Hospice of Chautauqua County will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
