Mae J. Miller

Mae J. Miller, 85, of 5034 Highland Rd., near Kane, died Saturday evening, July 16, 2011 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie following a brief illness.
Born March 5, 1926 in Kane, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Ruby M. Nystrom Hadfield. In 1947, she married Cyril Gabriel, who died in 1964; and in 1972, she married Earl Miller, who also preceded her in death.
A 1944 graduate of Kane Area High School, Mrs. Miller was a clerk at the former A&P store in Kane for over 30 years, and later for the Quick Stop Market for over 20 years.
She was a member of Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kane and the Kane Senior Center.
Surviving are two sons, Donald (Liz) Gabriel of Meadville and Roy (Suellen) Gabriel of Kane; a sister, Margaret Anderson of Kane; and a brother, Robert Hadfield of Kane. Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survived.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husbands, are a sister, Darlene Miller; three brothers, Richard, Paul and Keith Hadfield; and a stepson, William Miller.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, and may attend a service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with the rev. Bill Waterman, pastor of Tabor Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery, Kane.
