Marcel Charles Lang Jr.

Marcel Charles Lang Jr., 84, formerly of Whispering Oaks, Hermitage, Warren, and Mt. Jewett, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Orange Village Care Center, Masury, Ohio.
He was born Nov. 9, 1927 in Bradford, a son of the late Marcel Charles Lang Sr. and Pearl Nellie Warfle Lang. He was a graduate of the former Hamlin Township High School in McKean County, and served with the U.S. Navy during WW II.  Marcel was employed as a lineman for Western Union Telegraph Co. for 22 years and retired in 1990 from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board where he worked for 15 years. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion, Post 574, Mount. Jewett. 
Surviving are his wife, the former Bertha C. Korep, also a resident at Orange Village Care Center; two daughters, Diane M. Crow and her husband Larry, Hampton, N.H., and Marcy A. Wiseman and her husband Neal, Plantation, Fla.; a grandson, Matthew A. Crow; a brother, Ronald D. Lang, Nevada; and a stepdaughter, Georgeanne Shirey and her husband Robert, Utah. 
Besides his parents, Marcel was preceded in death by a stepson, Richard LeVan. 
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion, Post 574, Mount Jewett, PA 16740; or to a charity of the donor’s choice. There are no calling hours. Military honors will be rendered by the West Middlesex VFW, Wheatland American Legion and Farrell VFW Honor Guard. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
