Marian C. Swanson

Marian C. Swanson, 90, formerly of Kasson, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Elk Regional Hospital in St. Marys.
Born Sept. 9, 1922, in Kushequa, she was a daughter of Wells and Margaret Martin Blair. On May 2, 1948, in Kushequa, she married Russell Swanson who preceded her in death. They were the first couple to be married at the Kushequa Union Church.
Mrs. Swanson was employed in the Treasury office at the courthouse and later worked in the VA office.
A member of the Smethport Methodist Church, she also was a participant in the Bell Choir at the church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane (Dale) Carrow and Julie (Larry) Keyser, both of Mt. Jewett; two sons, Russell (Joni) Swanson and Bradley Swanson, both of Kasson; three granddaughters, Leslie Moffet, Shannon Swanson and Carrie Swanson; five grandsons, Brian, Ryan, Robert, Greg and Jeremy Swanson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, were a daughter, Peggy Swanson; two brothers, Wells "Bud" Blair and Frank Blair; and an infant sister, Margaret Blair.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Friday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett where a funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Cam Mealy officiating. Burial will be at Clermont Cemetery.
