Ted Lutz Beth Carpenter of Mt. Jewett follows a Memorial Day tradition and plants flowers at the graves of her maternal grandparents-- Henry and Sophie Detrick-- at the St. Callistus Catholic Cemetery in Kane. Carpenter's mother is Kathryn Detrick Fleeger of Kane. Many Kane area families are visiting cemeteries this weekend to plant flowers at graves of loved ones.
