Mildred M. Hedberg

Mildred M. Hedberg, age 102, formerly of 204 Adams Ave. in Ridgway, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 29, 2010, at the Lutheran Home at Kane. She was born July 28, 1908 in Reynoldsville, daughter of the late Nelson and Susan (White) Smith. She married Allen W. Hedberg on Dec. 23, 1955, he preceded her in death in 1978. She had resided in Ridgway since 1959 and was a former Penfield and Blawnox resident. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgway, a member of the Church Women's Group (WELCA) and a member of the VIA.
She is survived by one daughter, Edith Gardner of Ridgway; two grandsons, Edward Gardner of Chicago, Ill., Allen Gardner of Bellville, Mich.; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Genevieve Gardner; a great grandson, Ryder Gardner; one sister, Jean Humes of Sharpsburg, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Wilhelmina Brosious; and a nephew, John Brosious Jr.
Funeral Services for Mildred M. Hedberg will be held at the convience of the family. Officiating will be Rev. Erik Hart, Pastor of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to the Lutheran Home at Kane. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
