Nancy E. Hipchen

Nancy E. Hipchen, 81, of 1200 Conewango Ave., Warren, and formerly of Mt. Jewett, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Warren General Hospital.
Born Aug. 13, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of Mont and Beatrice Daugherty. On Nov. 17, 1948, in Port Allegany,  she married C. Duane Hipchen who preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Hipchen had been employed for many years by Corning. Her greatest joy was cooking and she loved preparing dishes for others who appreciated her help in times of need. She also enjoyed passing on her cooking skills to her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy (Steve) Myers of Warren; three granddaughters, Lisa (Gary) Montebell, Dawn (Darren) Moore, Christy (Matthew) Schmit; three grandsons, Michael (Deana) Myers, David (Adrienne) Hipchen and Matthew (Anita) Myers; five great-grandsons, Trey Montebell, Alec Myers, Lucas Myers, Carson Moore and Marcus Montebell; four great-granddaughters, Lauren Myers, Kamryn Moore, Natalie Myers and Kamia Myers; a brother-in-law, Jack Hipchen of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by two sons, Phillip Hipchen and Donald Hipchen; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the Mt. Jewett/Hazel Hurst United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery.
