Outstanding day for Middle School Track and Field

JOHNSONBURG – The Kane Middle School Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams competed at the 25th Annual Johnsonburg Junior High Invitational on Saturday.
The Wolves boys’ team finished second overall out of 12 teams and was the top finisher in their school AA classification. The girls’ team was fifth overall and finished second in their AA school classification. Throughout the meet, there were many outstanding performances by individuals and relay teams that represented the improvement these athletes have made over the course of the season. Tyler Rolick started off the day by winning the pole vault with a meet record setting vault of 11’ 1.” As of Sunday, this vault was the highest in the nation for an eighth-grader, according to milesplit.com. This performance by Tyler earned him the Male Field MVP award at the meet. Camryn Cummings would also have an exceptional day in the field, as she would triple jump 32’ 2” earning the Female Field MVP Honors. This leap set a meet record and school record. It also ranks Camryn fourth in the nation among all seventh graders in the triple jump.
