January 31, 2012

Penn State Extension Educator, Jim Clark, was the guest speaker for the Smethport Rotary at the Desert Rose Café in Smethport on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Clark spoke on local water resource issues, including a study of 50 private water wells in Cameron County completed this past summer. McKean County residents, with private water supplies, have an opportunity to have their water tested for free from May 14th to June 22nd, through a Colcum Grant secured by the Headwaters RC&D. Applications are available at the Penn State Extension or the McKean Conservation District Office. Clark will provide a free Penn State Extension Workshop on interpreting water test reports for those who have their water tested and the general public. The workshop is set for July 11, 2012. Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the diversity of its workforce.
