A total lunar eclipse took place on Sunday night, and area skywatchers were able to view the celestial event through occasional breaks in the clouds. The moon entered into penumbra around 8:11 p.m., umbra around 9:07 p.m., and totality began around 10:11 p.m. and lasted until roughly 11:23 p.m. The eclipse concluded around 1:22 a.m. when the moon left penumbra.
