Marian Severance of Lamont Road, Jones Township, hugs her son, Aaron, a Kane High senior who has been nominated for a $500 scholarship offered by the Elk County Association of Township Officials. The Highland Township Board of Supervisors last week endorsed Severance for the college scholarship. Severance, who will graduate June 10, plans to attend Penn State at Wilkes-Barre. Severance is one of several nominees for the scholarship and the only one from Kane Area High School. There are no nominees from Highland Township this year.
