Raising the pole

Amy Geer Some James City residents helped to raise a pole in the middle of the James City ball field for Saturday's greased pole-climbing contest. The event will be held in conjunction with Saturday's James City car show. Shown helping to set the pole into the ground are, from left to right, Dylan Buhl, Robbie Fitzpatrick, Kirk Rounsville, Mark Hulings, and Mike Thiry. Also helping but not pictured was Tim Garity.
