Record bear season

Pictured from left to right are Jeff Jennings and Walter Dixon. In the truck from left to right are Taylor Hoffman and Carl Hoffman. Jennings is the one who got the bear in McKean County and it is his first bear. The group are from Troy. When talking with John Dzemyan, Pennsylvania State Game Commission, he said "this is the best year we have had in over 10 years." Everyday was a record day. The first day their were 122 checked in, second day 16, third day 69, fourth day 21, and six bears on the final day. The grand total for the 5-day bear season that were checked into the Mt. Jewett check station was 234, easily surpassing the previous high of 178 in 2005.
