Ribbon-cutting at Credit Union in Kane

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday to mark the opening of the Mountain Laurel Federal Credit Union at its new Kane location at West Hemlock Avenue and South Fraley Street. Those in the front row taking part in the ceremony include, left to right: Melanie Clabaugh, executive director of the Kane Area Development Center and Kane Chamber of Commerce; Jill Thompson, Kane office manager for State Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-Warren); Dr. Maryann Anderson, superintendent of the Kane Area School District; Bobbie Cappello, teller at the Credit Union office; Ron Schatz, chief executive officer (CEO) for the Credit Union based in St. Marys; Patty Shaffer, manager of the Kane office of the Credit Union; "Pennie Penguin," the mascot for the Credit Union's "Kids Club;" Jeff Andrulonis, president of the Kane Chamber of Commerce; and Joe Mallison and Rita Wiesner, members of the Credit Union board. The Credit Union's Kane office serves 800 customers. The Credit Union is located at the site of the former Kane Monuments.
