Rose M. Grimes

Rose M. Grimes, 83, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Kane, formerly of Haines Street, Kane, died Saturday morning, June 18, 2011 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 4, 1927 in Allegany, N.Y., she was the daughter of William and Bessie Weaver Bova. On Aug. 3, 1948 in Shinglehouse, she married Edward M. Grimes, who died in 2000.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Kane, where she was active in the Altar Guild.
Surviving are a daughter, Darla Dixon of Kane; sons-in-law Clayton Schreckengost and Dan Detrick; grandchildren Angela (David) Wheatley, Stephanie Hollabaugh, Steven and Robert Detrick, Julie Ann (Terry) Walker and David "Norman" Schreckengost; and great-grandchildren Cheyenne and Brandi Wheatley and Daniel and Brayden Walker. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a daughter, Cheryl Detrick.
A memorial service will be held privately at the family's convenience.
