Ruth B. Ross

Ruth B. Ross, 100, formerly of Burning Well Road, Kane, died Sunday evening, Aug. 21, 2011 at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport.
Born Sept. 18, 1910 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah McClure Buchanan.  In November of 1942, she married Howard Ross, who died in 1966.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ross was a member of the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church, where she played piano for many years. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star in Mt. Jewett and the Order of the Amaranth.
Surviving are a son, Thomas C. Ross of Kane; a stepson, Howard Ross of Kane; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by stepson Bruce Ross, granddaughter Karen Bifano, twin sister Gladys A. Graff and sister Eunice Berg.
Friends may call at the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10:50 a.m., followed by a service there at 11 a.m. with the W. Craig Smith, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held privately in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

The Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., Kane, is entrusted with handling arrangements.
