Ruth L. Landfair

Ruth L. Landfair, 92, of 103 High Point Dr., died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 21, 1919, in New Alexandria, she was a daughter of John H. and Laura Taylor Gallagher. On July 7, 1941, in West Virginia, she married Harry W. Landfair who preceded her in death in 1973.
Mrs. Landfair was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Kane. Ruth loved watching birds and wildlife, growing flowers, and reading the Bible.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Milton) Taylor of Kane and Susan (Carl) Davidson of Seneca, S.C.; a son, Harry (Robin) Landfair of Georgetown, Idaho; three sisters, Dorothy Cruder of Greensburg, Gladys Walker of Saltsburg and Grace Shipmann in California; a brother, John (Martha) Gallagher of San Diego, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Landfair; two brothers; and one sister.
Friends will be received today from 12-2 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Kris Graham officiating. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery
