Several criminal cases filed in Kane court

February 22, 2012

Several criminal cases have been filed in the office of Kane District Court Judge Dave Engman.
Information on the following cases is from court documents:
*Travis C. Davidson, 29, of 2 Curtis Road Ext., Ludlow, is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
Kane Police Officer Bill Nichols filed the charges after stopping a 2004 black Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by the defendant on Welsh Street in Kane.
A test at Kane Community Hospital determined that Davidson’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .229 percent, more than double the legal limit.
Police also charged the defendant with careless driving.
Police stopped the defendant’s vehicle after the investigation of an alleged fight at the Buckhorn Hotel along Welsh Street.
The defendant reportedly asked police if he could “drive home.”
Police warned Davidson not to drive because he could face the possibility of DUI charges. Police could smell a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” on the defendant’s breath.
Davidson ignored the warning the drove away in his truck, court documents show.
