St. Matthews Preschool came to the fire hall on Wednesday morning for fire prevention. The children and their teachers got to see tools that are used to fight different types of fires and one of the firefighters demonstrated how to stop-drop-and roll after which kids were asked to try it. They were shown how the thermal imaging camera works. Some of the kids were given a chance to see their handprints on a board, the teacher Miss Beth also got to try it. Afterwards, they were given snacks and goodie bags then the most fun part was getting to climb in and through the trucks and blow the air horns. Later on in the day the firefighters went to the Senior Center and did fire prevention there talking mainly about smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and reminded people to change the batteries once a year.
