'Tickle Monster' to pay price for abusing children

October 9, 2012

Photo by Ted Lutz – A deputy for the Centre County Sheriff's Department stands Tuesday near a vehicle at the rear of the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte. The vehicle is there to pick up one of the victims in the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse case. A canvas (background) is used to form a tunnel from the courthouse to the vehicle. The tunnel shields victims from photographers as they leave the courthouse.

BELLEFONTE – The "Tickle Monster" will be going to prison, most likely for the remainder of his life.
Jerry Sandusky, 68, convicted in June of molesting 10 young boys over a 15-year period, was sentenced Tuesday to spend a minimum of 30 years in prison.
Senior Trial Judge John Cleland of Kane handed down the sentence at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
One of the victims who spoke in court Tuesday said Sandusky called himself the "Tickle Monster" in an alleged 1998 incident in a shower when the victim was only 11.
