Time clock in Hamlin Township

December 16, 2010

Hamlin Township soon will begin using a time clock to keep track of the hours worked by its three full-time employees-- two in the Public Works Department and the township secretary-treasurer.
Many factories use timeclocks use keep tabs on the hours worked by employees. But there could be issues with a township, especially the road crew. The workers apparently will be required to "punch" in before they begin plowing roads in the early morning hours. Will this mean they need to walk through snow to access the timeclock before starting the engine in the snowplow at the township shed just down the road? If they go first to the plow, they won't be recorded as working.
