Victor L. Lantz

Victor L. Lantz, 90, a resident of the Lutheran Home at Kane, and formerly of Mt. Jewett, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Mt. Jewett, he was a son of the late Victor R. and Besse M. Watterson Lantz. He was married to Pearl M. Barbour who survives.
Mr. Lantz served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Jewett and belonged to the Cleveland Johnson Post 574 American Legion and the Mt. Jewett Rotary.
Before his retirement, he had been a postal worker at the Mt. Jewett Post Office for many years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Terry Lantz of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Brenda Lantz of Ridgway; two grandsons, Stephen Lantz and Danny Lantz, both of Knoxville; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett, where a funeral service, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the Mt. Jewett/Hazel Hurst United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will be at Bridgeview Cemetery.
