Ross Nicholson, left, and Kenny Kane, right, 2009 graduates of Kane Area HIgh School, are the recipients of the Edgar "Jesse" James Memorial Scholarship. Allie DeSio, center, a 2007 graduate of Kane High, presented the award at commencement. She is the granddaughter of "Jesse" James, who served as mayor of Kane for 32 years. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants were required to write an essay entitled "Why I Love Kane."
