McKean County's only afternoon daily newspaper, was first published on January 12, 1894 by founder Colonel Lucius Rogers.  Its centennial celebration was observed on January 12, 1994, with The Honorable Judge John M. Cleland, who worked as a general assignment reporter during the summer under Editor John Cliff, attending the event as a special guest.   A time capsule, to be opened on January 12, 2044 was buried by Joe Piccirillo, retired former Regional Manager and staff.
