Fines have been levied against two defendants, who appeared earlier this week in district court in Kane on criminal charges filed in 2008.
Information on the cases is from district court records.
Mayhlon Robert Troutman, 44, was assessed $423.50 in a fine and court costs after pleading guilty to public drunkenness. Court records show his address as 600 Dawson St., Apt. 2.
Criminal charges of disorderly conduct and harassment were dropped in the plea deal between McKean County District Attorney-elect Ray Learn and Public Defender Dennis Luttenauer, who represented the defendant.
Kane Police Officer Bill Nichols placed the charges for an incident on the early morning hours of Sept. 10, 2008. Police were called to the Troutman residence six times for loud noise as the result of a party.
Police charged the defendant with harassment after he repeatedly used profanity in remarks directed to Yvonne Banks.
In another 2008 case, a charge of aggravated assault against Troutman was bound over to McKean County Court after a preliminary hearing earlier this week in district court.
Troutman is accused of striking Timothy Chalfant with a motor vehicle Sept. 26, 2008 in the parking lot of the Dollar General store on North Fraley Street.
Kane Police Officer Derrick Snyder filed charges in this case. Troutman allegedly fled the scene after the incident.
In another 2008 case handled this week in district court, Jennifer Margret Niziol, 39, of Salamanca, N.Y. was assessed $633, including fine and court costs. She pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. She has 10 days in which to pay the $633, according to court information.
State Police Trooper Ted Race placed the charge against the defendant on March 22, 2008 in Hamlin Township.
