Criminal charges have been dropped against a Kane man, who marked his 55th birthday by going to county jail for allegedly making terroristic threats. Daniel A. McCamey of 237 Haines St. has pleaded guilty in district court in Kane to a charge of public drunkenness. He was assessed $423.50, including a fine and court costs, according to court information. The defendant had been facing more serious charges of making terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly waved a foot-long knife in another person’s face and made a threat, court records show. Kane Police Officer William Cooley placed the charges at 5:21 p.m. Oct. 13 in front of the defendant’s residence. Kane Police Chief Brian Hillard responded to the scene along with State Police. Chief Hillard transported McCamey to the State Police station near Lantz Corners where District Judge William Todd of Smethport arraigned the defendant via the video conference system. Chief Hillard then transported McCamey to the McKean County Prison near Smethport.
