Francis P. Gardner Sr., age 63, of Rasselas Road, Wilcox, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010.
He was born on Aug. 5, 1946, on Gardner Hill, Weedville, son of Ward and Patricia (Murphy) Gardner Jr.
He married Judith Ann (Anderson) on July 3, 1965; she died on Jan. 10, 2010.
He was a truck driver with many different companies and most recently DeLullo Trucking of St. Marys. He was a dirt track race car driver in his youth. He enjoyed NASCAR, snowmobiling, boating and camping. He was born and raised on Gardner Hill and been a Johnsonburg/Wilcox area resident since 1965.
He is survived by three children, Tish Olszewski of Colorado Springs, Colo., Deanna Gardner of Johnsonburg, and Francis Gardner Jr. of Wilcox; two grandchildren, Chase Gardner and Ryan Sherry; and one brother, Theodore Gardner of Brockport.
He is predeceased by his parents and wife, Judith Ann (Anderson) Gardner.
There will be no visitation.
The family will be receiving friends at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon with a funeral service to be held at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. noon with Pastor Stephen Fair officiating.
