Mix, wrestling at 171 pounds, received a bye into the quarter-final round then pinned Smethport's Kyle Nobles in the 3rd period to reach the semi-finals.

Moran, Kane's fine 145 pounder, also advanced to the quarter-finals with a bye then pinned Brockway's Kyle Bolen in the 1st period to gain a berth in the semis.

Nicholson, at 189 pounds, turned in the most impressive performance of the day for the Wolves. He recorded a 22 second fall over Aaron Kornhauser of Brookville in his first match and decked Shioh Buchleitner of Redbank Valley in his second match to move to the semi-final round.

Wolves  275 pounder Steven Mix remains alive in the consolation round.

The rest of the Kane squad didn't fare as well. 215 pounder Cory Smith was forced to retire from the tournament in his first match after head to head contact with his opponent, Jake Thompson from Ridgway. Bruce Waters (125), Devon Lindberg (130), Josh Anderson (135), Tom Christian (152) and Robert Kumher (160) all lost two matches and were eliminated from the tournament.

Action will start again at 10:30 this morning
