Although wintry weather lingers on, the Wetmore Township Board of Supervisors is making plans for summer road projects.

Acting at their monthly meeting Tuesday, the supervisors accepted bids for road materials and discussed this year's paving project.

New Enterprise, a company based in New Enterprise, Pa., submitted the low bid for three types of road materials. Allegheny Aggregate of Pittsfield submitted the low bid for another type.

The supervisors also agreed to seek bids for trucking the road materials to the township storage site at the rear of the township building on Spring Street in East Kane.

Supervisors Ron Conklin, Dave "Chip" Peterson and Steve Dyne also agreed to apply to the county for $6,071 in liquid fuel tax revenue. The supervisors plan to use this money to help fund the township's annual paving project.

The project calls for paving Pine Street and Sleepy Hollow Road. Specifications may be completed in time to call for bids next month. Bids are expected to be opened in May.

In other business, the supervisors:

•Accepted a lone bid from Kane Liquid Fuel for diesel fuel. The price of $3.37.9 per gallon could change under an escalation clause in the contract.

•Received notice that the McKean County Planning Commission has approved two subdivisions in the township.

Steve Chittester was given permission for a two-lot subdivision on Dwight's Road. Diane Clopp was approved for a two-lot subdivision on Ideal Farm Road.

•Discussed a proposed agreement for the installation of a pipeline on the township right-of-way for Dwight's Road. East Resources plans to install the pipeline to the Elkhorn propane site off Greendale Road.

Chris Byham, a local attorney who is the solicitor for the township, plans to review the agreement.

•Received notice that the township has filed an application for $329.39 in state funds to cover a portion of the township's cost for services provided by sewage enforcement officer Russ Braun.

Elaine Bodistow, township secretary-treasurer, filed the application with the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
