MT. JEWETT - The Mt. Jewett Charter School Coalition will sponsor a “community bonfire” from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at a vacant lot on Main Street.

The site is the former location of a building housing a bowling alley. A fire destroyed this building and the lot has been vacant ever since.

Activities are the bonfire include food, music and fund-raising events.

The Mt. Jewett Charter School Coalition is making plans to open a charter school in Mt. Jewett for the start of classes next August.
