By Ted Lutz Republican Staff MT. JEWETT – The Mt. Jewett Regional Sewer Authority is seeking right-of-way agreements for a proposed road to access a main sewer line on the west end of the system. The authority reviewed a proposed right-of-way agreement Tuesday at its monthly meeting at the borough building. After the legal document is tweaked, the authority is expected to send the proposal to the owners of seven parcels within the route of the sewer line. The proposed access road will run about 3,100 feet and parallel the existing eight-inch sewer line that carries sewage to the treatment ponds on Kushequa Avenue. The authority last month agreed to spend about $6,000 for a camera inspection of the interior of the sewer line. Pipe Eye Sewer Services of Bradford is expected to perform the work, but can’t gain access to the site until the service road is built. The authority is conducting an inspection of the sewer line because it will connect with the proposed Lantz Corners area sewer district in the western end of Hamlin Township. Patrick McGuire, chairman of the authority, said Tuesday that he is hoping to have the rights-of-way in place “as soon as possible so we can proceed” with the access road and camera inspection. He said the authority intends to send out the proposed right-of-way agreements to the property owners “as soon as possible.” “We need to keep this project going to get it done this year,” McGuire said. The authority last month agreed to hire McKean Abstracting to determine whether rights-of-way exist on the parcels of property near the west end sewer line. This $250 search turned up negative results. Bradford attorney Mark Hollenbeck, the solicitor for the authority, prepared a “rough draft” of a right-of-way agreement. This document will be refined before it goes out to the property owners for their consideration. In other business at the 61-minute meeting, the authority approved the purchase of materials for its sand filters at the treatment plant. Mt.
