Wolves fall to Brookville

October 13, 2011

The Kane boys soccer team fell to a more aggressive Brookville team 5-1. Both teams started out just trying to get a feel for the field as the footing was poor. Once the Brookville squad got their feet under them they started controlling the game and were able to put three goals on the board before the half. It seemed like every time Kane was on offense the Raiders were there and with a few more people on defense than the Wolves had on offense.
The second half was not much better for the home team. They were able to get some shots on goal but were held in check most of the day. Kane got its only goal of the day as freshman Dillon Mattis would make a nice play and put the home team on the board with 9:11 left in the game. The goal was the first career varsity goal for Mattis. The young players showed a lot of hustle when they got their time to play.
"They had a strong offense," said Kane boys soccer coach Ernie Chamberlain.
