Wolves hold off late Hubber rally

The Kane lady wolves used a strong defensive effort in the last five minutes of the game to preserve a hard fought 3-2 win over a game Smethport team.
Goalie Jesse Ogorek came up with some very big saves in the last couple minutes of the game as the Hubber offense started to press the Wolves' defense.Â
Kane controlled the beginning of the game as they kept putting pressure on the defense of the Lady Hubbers. The Lady Wolves would get on the board first as Taylor Bucheit would find the net with 19:41 in the first half. Smethport would get several shots on goal in the first half but a lot of them were not struck with authority. The teams would go back and forth for the rest of the first half and Kane would go into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Smethport would come out the second half with a lot of fire. Constant pressure on the Kane defense would finally pay off as the Lady Hubbers would tie the game up with 26:58 left in the game. Kane started to make some nice passes and start to get their offense back in gear and in just over three minutes after Smethport tied the game Dawn Saquin would make a nice shot on goal and with 23:46 left in the game would put the home team back in the lead 2-1.
