The Kane Wolves varsity soccer team traveled to Ridgway Tuesday afternoon to take on the Ridgway Elkers for the third game of the season and came away with a 3-0 shutout win.
Due to Friday’s scheduled home game with Dubois Central Catholic being cancelled because of weather, Kane had their third straight league game on the road.
The layout of the Ridgway field was much different than Kane experienced against Port Allegany last Thursday, being much wider and spacious. It was apparent that Kane would need some time to adjust as the halftime score ended at a 0-0 tie. Kane generated little offense in the first half, except for a few long range shots by defender Justin Anderson. he defense, anchored by Sam Anderson in the middle under the direction of goal keeper Cory McGuire, did a fine job keeping the Elkers’ attack under wraps.
At halftime, Coach Chamberlain and Coach Mosier preached the importance of hustling, making better passes, communicating on the field, and simply having a greater desire to win.
