Wolves soccer team drops 6-1 decision to Elkers

September 11, 2012

Wolves sophomore Chris Cummings keeps the ball from going out of bounds during Tuesday's game. Cummings and his team fell to 0-3 on the season with the loss to Ridgway, but will try to bounce back against Coudersport on Saturday morning.

The Kane Wolves boys’ soccer team again played a solid half but couldn’t string together 80 minutes of soccer in Tuesday afternoon’s game against Ridgway.
Like last week’s home game against Smethport, the Wolves were right in the game at intermission, but a flurry of goals by their opposition early in the second half put the home team in a big hole.
Defenses for both teams dominated the first 10 minutes as each team only had one shot, Kane’s coming from Chris Saquin. Kane’s first good scoring attempt came 15 minutes into the contest when Dillon Mattis had a beautiful cross to Aaron Meserole, whose shot was just wide. An apparent Kane goal minutes later was nullified on an offsides call, but the Wolves’ fans were encouraged with the offensive effort.
