MT. JEWETT - A community "block party" is planned Saturday night to benefit the Mt. Jewett Charter School Coalition.

The event is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the parking lot adjacent to the Mt. Jewett Shur Save on East Main Street (Route 6).

Music will be provided by "Turtle" and Son Sound.

Donations will benefit the Mt. Jewett Charter School Coalition, which is planning to open a charter school in Mt. Jewett in time for the start of the 2008-09 school year.
