Marjorie J. "Jean"  Russell,  85, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 28, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Kane where she had resided for the past 18 months.
Born June 8, 1927, in Frewsburg, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Bertel and Gladys Davidson Carlson. On May 15, 1948, at Moriah Lutheran Church in Ludlow, she married Hyle L. Russell who preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1963.
Mrs. Russell was employed for many years as a cook at Kane Community Hospital. She was a member of Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son, Douglas (Judy) Russell of Laird, Va.; three daughters, Yvonne (John) Cannella and Lori (Robert) Leonard, both of Kane, and Bonnie (John) Sennett of Denton, N.C.;  seven grandsons; five granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; six step-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Margaret (Andrew) Rakiecki of Erie and Patricia Frontera of Kane; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, her twin sister Margaret "Joan" Johnson and her sister, Beatrice Ann Carlson; and a granddaughter, Nicole Cannella.
Friends will be received Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc.  Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Waterman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Gibbs Hill Cemetery.
