Margaret L. Carlson

Margaret L. Carlson, 84, formerly of 1319 E. Main St., Bradford, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Hospice and Pallative Care Center in Cheektowaga, N.Y.
Born June 23, 1928, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Horrace J. and Anna M. (Becker) Washburn.
On May 3, 1947, in Bradford she married Curtis Carlson who died Feb. 2, 2012.
Mrs. Carlson was a 1946 graduate of St. Bernard High School and a graduate of the Warren Beauty School. She had worked as a beautician in Kane for several years, and later as a secretary/ clerk for Foster Township. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church.
She is survived by three sons Stephen (Beverly) D. Carlson, of Akron, N.Y., David (Judy) L. Carlson, of Kane and Richard L. Carlson, of Forestville, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, Kandie (Joel) Gay, Kristen (Don) Kohl, Amye (Doug) Burton, Eric (Becky) Carlson, Julie (Dale) Anderson, Katie (Ray) Dupree, Michael Carlson, Zachary Carlson, Brandon (Cheree) Caprio and Joseph Caprio; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Carlson; two sisters, Doris Keenan and Helen Gates; and one brother, John Washburn.
Friends will be invited to attend a graveside service at Kanesholm Cemetery at a later date to be announced. Burial will be in Kanesholm Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
Memorials if desired may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church, 152 Seaward Ave. Bradford or the American Cancer Society, McKean County Unit, 95 Main Street, Bradford or a charity of the donor's choice.
