Loretta E. Snow, 89, formerly of 315 Kearney St., Kane, died Wednesday morning, April 3, 2013 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where she resided for the past 17 months.
Born May 18, 1923 in Kane, she was the daughter of William A. and Mary E. Shaffer Johnson.Â On June 29, 1946 in Ridgway, she married Robert D. Snow, who died in 1974.
Mrs. Snow was a secretary at Kane Screens before her marriage, then again after her husband passed away, retiring in 1988.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Dorcas Circle, the Mary Circle and the United Methodist Women.Â She volunteered both at the Friends' Memorial Public Library in Kane and the Red Cross Bloodmobile through the RSVP.
Loretta enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, baking, photography and especially her family.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Christine) Snow of Kane; three daughters, Karen (Karl) Anderson of Erie, Donna (Fred) Hawk of Greensburg and Diana (Gerald) Fallon of Appleton, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Natalie Stroup, Kara Kartez, Brian Hawk, Kyle Snow and Jacob Fallon; three step-grandchildren, Karen Nelson, Michael Fallon and Timothy Fallon.Â Three great-grandchildren also survive:Â Chase and Elise Kartez, and Mckenna Stroup, plus four step-great-grandchildren, Fallon and Garrett Nelson, and Alivia and Max Fallon; and a niece, Marcella Martin.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, is a sister, Dolores Johnson.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, and one hour prior toÂ the service there at 2:00 on Saturday with the rev. William LaVelle, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, and the rev. David Pflieger, chaplain of The Lutheran Home at Kane, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
