Emer humbled by outpouring of support

Friends of the 12-time cancer survivor are holding a benefit to raise money to help the Kane school bus driver and cafeteria worker while she takes part in a trial study in Pittsburgh. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight and feature three local bands.

JAMES CITY – It has been a whirlwind couple of months for James City’s Brenda Emer. Back in mid-February, she found out that she would not be able to start the clinical trial she was anticipating. Brenda went to Pittsburgh a week before the trial was set to start for a scan and a liver biopsy. Unfortunately, the scan showed a brain tumor.
