Harold M. Anderson

Harold M. Anderson, 78, of 6792 Route 321 in East Kane, died Friday morning, May 17, 2013 at his residence following a recent illness.
Born Feb. 15, 1935 in Sergeant, he was the son of Arthur and Mabel Lee Anderson. On Dec. 29, 1966 in Kane, he married Kathylene "Kathy" Mosier, who survives.
Mr. Anderson served in the National Guard and then in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1963, when he was transferred to the Navy Reserves. Later, he worked at the Cera-Mag division of Stackpole in Kane for over 38 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Kane Lodge #566 F&AM, where he recently received his 25-year pin, and had belonged to the Coudersport Consistory. He also belonged to the Kane Fish & Game Club, Hi-La Sportsman's Club, the NRA, and was a life member of both the VFW Post #1132 in Kane and the Dads of Vets. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and sporting clays.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Douglas (Kelli) Anderson of Kane and John Anderson of Las Vegas; a sister, Carol Jean Cavallero of Naples, Fla.; and four grandsons, John Michael, Kegan, Ethan and Max Anderson.
Preceding him in death, besides his parents, are brothers James, Fredrick and Lester Anderson; and a sister, Wanda Mergenhagen.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Tabor Ev. Lutheran Church in Kane with the rev. Bill Waterman, pastor, and the rev. David Pflieger, chaplain of The Lutheran Home at Kane, co-officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery following cremation.
