Despite economic woes, United Fund tops goal

Photo by Ted Lutz – The annual Kane Area United Fund campaign has exceeded its goal of $38,000 to benefit 19 health and community-service agencies. This "thermometer" to mark the progress of the drive is located adjacent to the Northwest Savings Bank office on Fraley Street in Kane.

Despite a gloomy local economy, Kane area residents have reached in their pockets to aid 19 non-profit organizations that improve the quality of life.
