Greta A. Jacobus, 83, of 115 Biddle St., passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at theYork Hospital.
Born May 6, 1930, in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of  the late Hilary and Margaret Collins Weaver. On Aug. 13, 1955, in Lock Haven, she married Paul Jacobus who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Jacobus taught in the Kane Area School District for many years, retiring in 1985. She was the valedictorian of her high school class and a graduate of Penn State University in 1952.
She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church where she had previously been an organist.
Surviving are three daughters, Dr. Paula Jacobus of York, Sister Judith of St. Malo, France and Susan (Howard) Wilson of Ventnor, N.J.; two sons, Dr. Mark (Carol) Jacobus of Albuquerque, N.M. and John "Jack" Jacobus of Kane; six grandsons, John Jacobus, Jeffrey Jacobus, Joseph Jacobus, Gregory Jacobus, David Wilson and Daniel Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Jayla Jacobus.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Callistus Church at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mt. Jewett, as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
