Florence V. Forquer

Florence V. Forquer, 88,  a resident of Sena-Kean Manor, and formerly of Kushequa, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Kane Community Hospital.
Born June 15, 1924, in Kushequa, she was a daughter of William and Anna James Transue. On June 20, 1941, at Kushequa Union Church, she married Lester Forquer who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Forquer had worked at Sylvania in Emporium and had also been employed as a waitress at Julian's Cafe and then Kellar's Cozy Cafe, both in Mt. Jewett. She was an active member of the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church and participated in many church functions. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis (Linda) Forquer of Kane and Larry (Joni) Forquer of Bradford; three grandsons, Bill (Tammy) Forquer, Tod Forquer and Troy Forquer; a granddaughter, Vicki Roth; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Robert Forquer of Bradford.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lyle Forquer; a sister, Helen Carlson; and a brother, Edward Transue.
Friends and family may attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. on June 30, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Mt. Jewett with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Bridgeview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett is in charge of arrangements.
