Ralph G. Faull

Ralph G. Faull, 82, of Mt. Jewett, passed away at UPMC Hamot on Monday, June 24, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 21, 1930, in Karns City, he was a son of the late William Lee and Cornie Minteer Faull. On Oct. 27, 1961, at Nebo Chapel, he married Marguerite Magnuson who survives.
A 1948 graduate of Bradford High School, he then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952.
Episcopalian by faith, Ralph was a member and lay reader at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Jewett.
Mr.Faull was involved in the timber industry his entire career, beginning at Hardes Lumber in Bradford in 1956 and leaving as a sawmill manager after 11 years. He then pursued a career as a veneer log buyer, first with the Dean Company of West Virginia for 15 years and then at the Freeman Corporation of Kentucky for 24 years until his retirement.
In his retirement Ralph enjoyed being a tipstaff for the McKean County Courthouse. He was a member of the Mt. Jewett American Legion Post 574, the Mt. Jewett VFW, Mt. Jewett Sportsmen’s Club, the NRA, Coudersport Consistory, Kane Masonic Lodge #566, and a past Master of the Mt. Jewett Masonic Lodge.
Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing and never met a dog he did not like. He was a kind and patient man and an extraordinary grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Alison, taking walks on the “back forty” with her and the dogs, feeding the birds and deer and enjoying nature.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Marguerite Faull, he is survived by a son, Kevin Faull, of Mt. Jewett; a daughter, Connie Packard of Kane; a granddaughter, Alison Packard, also of Kane; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother, Bill Faull; and a sister, Betty Murray.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. at Nebo Chapel, a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, officiating. Full military services will follow at Nebo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Jewett Memorial Library, The McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Ave., Bradford, PA 16701 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett is in charge of arrangements.
