Robin Leigh Sluga

Robin Leigh Sluga, 60, of New Port Richey, Fla. died Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Mary's Home of Erie in Erie. 
She was born in Kane on July 11, 1953, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ruth Sluga of Mt. Jewett.
Robin was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with degrees in biology and chemistry. She had careers in the medical field as a medical technologist, and in the computer industry as a systems analyst, and recently retired from Verizon Communications. She and her husband were well- known for their orchid collection and for the many homeless kittens they rescued and raised.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Randy L. Vick, and by her great nephew, Mikey Felice.  Survivors include her brother, Joel (Barb) Sluga; her sister, Suzanne (Mike) Mahoney; nieces Danielle (Chris) Felice, Erin (Gil) Martin, Jill (Phil) Schar, Jacquelyn Sluga and Adrienne Sluga; nephew Dave Sluga; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and great nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mt. Jewett on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz as celebrant. The Rosary will be recited prior to the Mass at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery in Mt. Jewett.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Jewett Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.
