Gertrude F. Anderson

Gertrude F. Anderson, age 93, formerly of Harrison Township, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at 8:05 p.m. at The Lutheran Home in Kane.
She was born on her mother's birthday on Maple Street in Natrona Heights on July 14, 1920, daughter of Henry and Pearl Buzzard Sherrieb. She resided in the Harrison Township area for 90 years and had lived at The Lutheran Home of Kane since 2011.
She was a graduate of Har-Brack High School in 1939 and worked as an operator for Bell Telephone, and as a homemaker.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Harrison Township, and enjoyed Bible study and working in the theft shop. She also enjoyed camping, quilting, crocheting and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Anderson, of Kane; two grandchildren, Laura Barczykowski (Matt) of Lower Burrell, and Briand Antoine (Denise) of Glenshaw; four great-grandchildren, Destiny and Cody Antoine, and Dana and Megan Barczykowski.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine R. Anderson on Nov. 17, 2001; a daughter, Sally Antoine on Jan. 27, 2013; two brothers, Millard and Robert Sherrieb; and three sisters, Gladys Beck, Edith Wilks, and Florence Osmann.
The family has requested no visitation.
The public is invited to attend a memorial service in the Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Rd., Natrona Heights, Pa., at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 with Rev. Justin Judy officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Krynicki Funeral Home, Inc., 1007 Freeport Rd., Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to The Lutheran Home at Kane, 119 Highpoint Dr., Kane, Pa. 17635 or to the Methodist Church.
