Joseph F. Bonfilio

Joseph F. Bonfilio, 90, of 316 Janeway St., passed away early Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Oct. 21, 1922, in Kane, he was a son of Frank and Mary Zimmero Bonfilio.
Mr. Bonfilio worked for the Kane Borough as the park superintendent. He was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and had been a member of the VFW, American Legion, Sons of Italy and the Eagles.
He served with the 384th Fighter Squadron in the Army Air Force during World War II  and was with the Infantry in the Korean War.
Surviving are two sisters, Jeanie Bonfilio and Frances Palumbo, both of Kane; two nieces, Julie (Duane) Frey of Pittsburgh and Linda (Thomas) Churakos of Olean, N.Y.; a nephew, Peter (Martha) Palumbo of Bradford; and several grand nieces and grand nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Peter Bonfilio; and two sisters, Theresa Bonfilio and Mary Bonfilio.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday at St. Callistus Church with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
