Gary R. Bush

Gary R. Bush, 59, of Smethport, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 in St. Vincent Hospital, Erie.
He was born Nov. 5, 1953 in Kane, a son of Ralph and June Thayer Bush.
On Aug. 9, 1975, in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church of Lewis Run, he married Marian M. Farrell, who survives.
Gary was a 1971 graduate of Kane High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He owned and operated Bush Trucking Co. in Smethport and was co-owner of the Smethport Drive-In with his wife, Marian. 
Gary was a gentle protector who held us all in his arms. He was a unique soul who enjoyed many hobbies, from scuba diving to photography, and his sense of curiosity was the source of memories that live on in all of us.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Nichole (Jack) Tanner of Smethport and Megan Bush of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sons, Zachary Bush of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Andrew Bush of Buffalo, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Cordell and Sabrina Tanner, all of Smethport; two brothers, Larry (Jean) Bush and Ralph "Sonny" (Janice) Bush, both of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, Pa. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, Pastor as Celebrant. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday.
